Horizon Transitional Village Program

Dorothy Day House's Horizon Transitional Village Program (HTV) is the first of its kind for our area. An indoor safe encampment for unhoused individuals, Horizon allows 50 residents a safe haven while they build a foundation for their futures.

Dorothy Day’s approach is building the foundation for emotional well-being and promoting happiness and fun.  Happy people tend to be productive people.  Dorothy Day said, “Food for the Body is not enough-there must be Food for the Soul”.  This is our premise for the HTV program.

Horizon Transitional Village will provide shelter, showers, laundry, clothing, and meals among other direct services.

We are looking for volunteer support in managing our extensive clothing closet, door monitoring for participants signing in/out, light cleaning, serving meals, support with events such as movie days, BBQs, and dances. To learn more about volunteering with Dorothy Day House, please click here.
