Dorothy Day House's

Berkeley Community Resource Center

Dorothy Day House's Berkeley Community Resource Center (BCRC) is our on-site drop in center.

The BCRC is Dorothy Day House’s largest program, encompassing the following services:

  • Community Breakfast (Served everyday except Sunday) and Community Lunches (7 Days a week)

  • Drop-In Center Services: Access to laundry and showers

  • Closet: Free, functional clothing for those in need

  • Outreach and Engagement: Two street teams, the Mobile Outreach Service Team (MOST) and the Street Partnership Outreach Team (SPOT)

The newest addition to our BCRC services is our focus on Outreach and Engagement. As of 2019, there were 1,108  individuals living outside in Berkeley in encampments. In addition to distribution of food and hygiene kits, the people living in these encampments are assisted by our street teams with access to housing, mental health services and COVID-19 related testing and health service referrals.
